Yo Gotti, whose real name is Mario Sentell Giden Mims, is a rapper from Tennessee. He became known for his studio album Live from the Kitchen in 2012 and has also dropped notable records like I Am, The Art of Hustle, and I Still Am.
He is the founder of the record label Collective Music Group, known as CMG.
Yo Gotti made eleven mixtapes and four independent albums before signing with RCA Records.
His style was influenced by both Southern and non-Southern hip-hop, inspired by icons like Master P, Dr. Dre, and Tupac Shakur.
However, in September of that year, Gotti faced accusations related to a shooting involving fellow rapper Young Dolph. He was later cleared but a friend Corey McClendon was arrested in connection with the incident.
