Caroline Werner, a bikini model, has denounced her country’s “patriarchal, violent culture” for prohibiting her from being naked because she is a woman, and she fears a year in prison as a result of the prank. The 37-year-old has slammed Brazilian regulations, wondering why women should be punished for performing a task that a man could easily perform.
According to the firm’s owner, she was detained by the Municipal Guard while taking a topless promenade in Balneário Cambori, a vacation city in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, and “roughed up” by police.
