Bernard King averaged 19,655 points, 5,060 rebounds, and 2,863 assists throughout the course of his 16-year small forward career in the NBA. Prior to suffering a knee injury, the former basketball star was at the peak of his career with the New York Knicks.
After leaving the New York Knicks, the 66-year-old joined the Washington Bullets, where he scored 44 points against Michale Jordan’s former team, the Chicago Bulls, in a victory.
Bernard was unfortunate since his knee problem recurred. The former basketball star returned to the New Jersey Nets after taking a year and a half off from the sport, where he spent the final season of his professional career until a knee injury forced him to retire.
On September 8, 2013, Bernard King was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
