The Georgia native, who was born Monique Idlett on April 30, 1974, grew up in an unstable household after her father died. She had just graduated from college when she secured a lucrative position as an advertising executive at USA Today at the age of 22. Monique was able to care for her son and her younger siblings because of that employment.
She developed into a female-led entertainment magnate over time. According to some websites, Monique Idlett-Mosley is worth $200.0 million. Although it might not be too far off, there is no proof of her salary or net worth.
Idlett-Mosely would have needed years of experience for the position at USA Today. She was the youngest and first-ever African-American woman to hold a senior executive position at the publication after she persuaded the VP to recruit her.
When she started her own independent marketing company, she was still employed by USA Today. After seven years, she decided to leave the outlet and concentrate on her business, which included Timbaland’s future spouse, Kanye West, Verizon, and Burrell Communications as clients.
Timbaland’s labels were managed by Idlett-Mosely when she wed Timbaland, a.k.a. Timothy Mosley. She also managed her spouse, Nelly Furtado, One Republic, and other artists to great success, including Mosley Brands and the record company Mosley Music Group (MMG).
Idlett-Mosely has concentrated on investing in start-ups ever since her divorce. In 2017, she co-founded Reign Venture Capital with Erica Duignan Minnihan, a friend from college. Its general/managing partner since 2019 is Idlett-Mosely.
Idlett-Mosely and her partners invest in tech firms founded by women and members of underrepresented groups at an early stage through Reign Venture. Among other ventures, Idlett-Mosely has put $1.5 million into Appy Couple, $850,000 into LISNR, and $1.0 million into BuzzTable.
Idlest-Mosely is a member of the cast of the online discussion program Chatter, which is shown on Fox Soul. The program examines a range of issues related to Black politics and culture. She also contributed her knowledge of the entertainment industry to Fox’s Empire.
