Margot Haddad was born to a French mother and a Lebanese father in Paris, France. Her father is a businessman who immigrated to France from Lebanon in the 1970s, just as the civil war was escalating. Her mother is a lawyer who specializes in international law. Margot Haddad grew up in a bilingual family, speaking both French and Arabic.
She also learned and became proficient in English in school. Margot Haddad has always been interested in journalism and the media. After studying political science at Sciences Po Paris, she got a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
She began her career as a field producer and correspondent for various American news sites, covering topics such as the Arab Spring, the Syrian war, the Charlie Hebdo shootings, and the Brexit referendum. She returned to France and joined BSmart, a new economic channel, where she collaborated with CNBC to create a multilingual program. She then worked as a journalist and broadcaster for LCI and BFM Business.
