He began producing mixtapes of his own in Miami as there was no consistent mixtape DJ in Miami, no one who ever really played the music from Miami. In 1993, he made his first Crazy Hood mixtape and after two years, he produced 42 volumes of the mixtape. In 1997, he founded Miami’s Crazy Sounds Record Pool and Hood DJs, an international coalition. Moreover, from his Crazy Hood mixtapes, he attracted various brands in Miami.
From 2001 to 2004, Crazy Hood ran Def Jam Recordings’s street teams in South Florida. Efn was named a member of Eckō Unltd.’s hip-hop dream team in 2002. Before, he deejayed on local pirate radio stations and at the University of Miami’s WVUM. Furthermore, ventured into the world of hip-hop clothing and retailing after the Crazy Goods store in West Kendall was opened in 1997. In addition, he was named Best Mixtape DJ at the First Annual Miami Urban Music Awards in 2003 and the Best New Mixtape DJ at the 7th Annual Justo Awards in 2002.
