Prior to building the Mustang which currently sits atop the Street Outlaws Top 10 list, he had built quite a name for himself in the import racing world. His Honda did not just run well but it also set and reset national records from time to time.
All this was a result of Chuck’s determination and drive. Eventually, the rules were changed when nobody else could equal the numbers he was running. The result behind the change of rules was to penalize him for being too fast. Hence, it made Chuck’s car illegal for competition.
The Honda Civic, a 2150-pound rocketship that he used was powered by a B18C Honda engine. The car cracked out 1,000 horsepower. Additionally, it laid down at 184 MPH a best Eastern Time of 8.21 seconds. Furthermore, to beat the record, Chuck was riding on relatively small 28×10.5 Mickey Thompson slicks.
