Erika Alexander’s father, Robert Alexander, was an itinerant preacher, and her mother, Sammie Alexander, was a teacher.
Erika has credited her civil rights activist father with instilling a commitment to social justice and activism.
Before her breakthrough role in “Living Single,” she appeared in many TV shows, including “The Cosby Show,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” and “Law & Order.”
After the success of “Living Single,” Alexander continued to work in television and appeared in shows such as “CSI: Miami,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “Queen Sugar.”
Erika Alexander also had a recurring role on the AMC series “Low Winter Sun” in 2013.
In addition to her television work, Alexander has appeared in several films, including “Love Liza,” “The Long Walk Home,” and “Get Out.”
