On the Canadian children’s show “Mr. Dress up,” Caterina had her first appearance on television as a young child as a frequent guest athlete. She played Amber, a character who travels from Vancouver to Toronto to live with her mother for a school term, in the 1998 movie “Peggy Delaney.”
Caterina played the lead character in the Lifetime criminal thriller series 1-800-Missing from 2003 to 2006. She portrayed a young woman named Jess Mastriani. She portrayed Alice Hamilton in the 2009 showcase TV miniseries ‘Alice,’ which was later broadcast on Syfy in the United States. In the Shonda Rhimes television series Private Practice, she played Amelia Shepherd.
She was promoted to series regular for the program in July 2010. She also had an appearance in the third episode of the seventh season of “Grey’s Anatomy.” After a three-year hiatus, Caterina made a regular guest appearance on the show. She received a promotion to series regular for the show’s eleventh season in June of that year.
