Melanie Oakley and Chris Schiphof, Tara’s parents, who both still live in King, North Carolina, were there when she was born. Before transferring to Chestnut Grove Middle School, Tara attended Mount Olive Elementary School. She received the prestigious Stokes County Arts Council Scholarship, allowing her to complete both high school and college.
2019 saw Tara graduate from the University of North Carolina School of Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in classical dance. In 2020, she also intends to graduate from Wake Forest University’s School of Business Master of Science in Management program. She belonged to the school’s dance squad.
Since she was a young child, Tara Schiphof has danced. She has performed with Dance Perfections, shown off her outstanding ballet skills at Stokes Stomp, King Fest, and Walnut Cove Festival in her hometown, and done it all. She moved to Georgia to work as a marketing specialist for Stanley Black & Decker. At age 23, Tara Schiphof became the first woman in the state to win the Miss Macon competition.
