Fox News Media’s CEO, Suzanne Scott, announced that Pierre Zakrzewski, a long-serving cameraman for the Company, had tragically passed away.
The incident occurred on Monday when the vehicle Zakrzewski was traveling in was struck by an incoming Fire in Horenka, located outside the capital city of Kyiv in Ukraine.
Later on Tuesday, Fox News confirmed that Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova had also lost her life in the same attack that claimed Zakrzewski’s life.
Kuvshynova, aged just 24, was working on the ground as a consultant for Fox News during the course of the Russian invasion.
This devastating news has been felt deeply by colleagues, friends, and family members of both Zakrzewski and Kuvshynova. Investigations are ongoing regarding the attack, with several different agencies collaborating to establish the facts.
The loss of such dedicated and talented professionals in journalism is a significant loss to the industry, and they will be deeply missed by many.
