Joao Lee is the son of the Queen of Rock, Rita Lee. The late musician had Joao with her second husband, Roberto de Carvalho.
After Rita Lee’s demise, Joao paid tribute through an Instagram post, saying his mother became, whom he loved more than anything in his life, became a star in the sky.
Joao went on, “What a spectacular and intense life you had. Loved and admired by so many people. So ahead of its time,” in the caption of a throwback clip where the late singer was carrying him when he was a toddler.
Joao Lee said his admiration for his mom was infinite. “What a joy and honor it is to be your son. What an honor and privilege it has been to learn from you. Get hold of your values. I’ve never met anyone like you.”
“I’d be satisfied If I bring just a little of the joy and fun you bring to the world. You are a rock, and you are, indeed, the queen. The world has lost one of its most unique and remarkable people. However, you are eternal.”
