East Ham is where Kane Robinson, also known as Kano, is from. He grew up in a Jamaican family and was exposed to reggae music from a young age.
Kano first became interested in grime music during his early years, when it was just beginning to become well-known in the UK underground scene.
He attended East Ham’s Langdon Comprehensive School, according to his educational background. There, he met D. Double E. and Footsie, two future teammates and grime artists.
They started performing at neighborhood events and bars as a group called N.A.S.T.Y. Crew. It wasn’t easy for Kano to grow up in a seedy area of London, but he was determined to succeed as a musician.
He started creating his own music, composing his own songs, and performing it live at different events as he progressively rose to prominence in the grime music scene.
