Charles Dance was born to Walter Dance and Eleanor Marion Perks. His father, Walter Dance, worked as an engineer and eventually became a civil servant, while his mother, Eleanor Marion Perks, worked as a cook.
He has two siblings, an older brother named Michael and a younger sister named Judith. Dance had two older half-sisters, Norah (1898–1993) and Mary (1903–1908).
Talking about Charles’s family, he is the father of three children. He got married to Joanna Haythorn in 1970. The pair was blessed with two children: a son Oliver in 1974 and a daughter Rebecca in 1980.
Eventually, the couple divorced in 2004 and did not share the reason for their separation.
Then, Dance was in a relationship with Eleanor Boorman from 2008 to 2012, and they welcomed a daughter named Rose in 2012.
