Art battled his gambling problem by getting married to Mitzi, his longtime partner. Following their magnificent 1989 wedding, they moved to Las Vegas right away. But the former footballer began stealing from his own family and home because he was unable to manage his addiction to gambling.
In an interview, Mitzi stated that she had never let Schlichter have a checkbook. She added that she thought she had lost all of the cash in her purse. She couldn’t take it anymore and moved to Indiana with their two children, Madison and Taylor. In 1994, after Art persuaded them to go back, the family relocated to Las Vegas to lead a normal life.
Sadly, he let Mitzi down once more, which led to her eventual separation. With her family, she went back to Indiana and concentrated on raising her daughters. It is said that Mitzi remarried Mr. Subrin. She endured a lot as Art’s wife, but she is now content with her life and her family.
