Authorities from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division responded to a 911 call in June 2021 reporting two fatalities at a residence near Islandton, South Carolina. Margaret “Maggie” Murdaugh, 52, and her son Paul Murdaugh, 22, were named as the victims. They both allegedly sustained several gunshot wounds.
On their 1,770-acre hunting ranch in Colleton County, Maggie Murdaugh and her son Paul were shot to death. Both Maggie’s husband Alex Murdaugh, who was 53 at the time, and their son Richard, also known as Buster, were still alive.
