Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper, professionally known as Saweetie, was born in Santa Clara, California, on July 2, 1993.
Her parents are Trinidad Valentin, who has mixed Filipino and Chinese heritage, and Johnny Harper, African-American.
She spent most of her childhood in Sacramento and attended two high schools, Merrill F. West High School in Tracy and Monterey Trail High School in Elk Grove, where she graduated.
At the age of 13, Saweetie started writing music and began to develop her skills as a rapper.
After finishing high school, Saweetie studied communications and business at San Diego State University.
Later, she transferred to the University of Southern California, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications.
While at USC, Saweetie was actively involved in the arts and music scene and performed at various events.
After completing her studies, Saweetie decided to focus on her rap career and began to work on her music full-time.
Her hard work and dedication paid off, and she gained recognition after the release of her debut single, “Icy Grl,” in 2017.
Since then, she has continued to release successful singles and EPs, leading up to her highly anticipated debut album, Pretty Bitch Music, which is set to be released in 2022.
Saweetie’s unique background and experiences growing up may have contributed to her success as an artist and shaped her artistic style and approach.
