Raymond Griner joined the US Air Force in the 1960s and was eventually sent to fight for the US in Vietnam. He stayed for two years (1968 and 1969) before returning home. When he returned home, he settled in the Houston area and used his military experience to land a position with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. After nearly three decades of service, he resigned as an assistant constable.
