Andrew Lester, the 84-year-old man, has been charged with first-degree assault for shooting a Black teenager in Kansas City, Missouri.
Prosecuting attorney Zachary Thompson stated that the person accused of shooting Ralph Yarl had not been apprehended yet, but a warrant had been issued for his arrest, and he would be required to post a bond of $200,000.
Diffrent sources have mentioned different information regarding Andrew’s arrest, but he will probably get arrested soon and might face life imprisonment.
The authorities hope that Andrew Lester will be arrested soon so that he is no longer a danger to the community.
The victim, 16-year-old Ralph Yarl, was shot twice and is recovering at home. The case has received national attention, with many expressing outrage and demanding justice, including President Joe Biden and several celebrities.
While some have pointed to the racial component of the shooting, the charging documents do not indicate that it was racially motivated. A GoFundMe to support Yarl’s medical costs has raised over $1 million.
