A native of Northern Virginia, Jew Blanco began layering his vocals over hip-hop instrumentals he created in his bedroom.
In 1994, at the age of six, he was first exposed to music through cassette recordings that contained the tracks “The World Is Yours” by Nas and “I Swear” by All-4-One. These tracks had a profound impact on his early compositions.
Blanco recorded himself on a boombox and experimented with track production before the attention of The Source and Columbia Records officials being drawn to his rapping.
He would frequently perform and host a radio program under the alias “Ebba Ebba” at Camp Airy in Thurmont, Maryland, during his youth.
Blanco received an apprenticeship with producer Disco D after making multiple trips from his Virginia residence to New York City to connect with record labels and producers.
