William Edward Knight and Grace Knight were the parents of Wayne Elliot Knight when he was born on August 7, 1955, in New York, United States. Wayne spent most of his formative years in Georgia, where his father held a supervisory position in the textile industry.
Wayne graduated from secondary school at a regional Georgian institution. He played football for the school team with enthusiasm. Wayne then continued his studies at the University of Georgia. He left the class in the midst of pursuing an acting career.
Wayne agreed to an internship with the Barter Theatre and later moved to New York to attend acting auditions. Throughout his nearly three-decade career, Wayne has worked with several big labels and appeared in several blockbusters.
