On March 20, 1976, Chester Bennington was born in Phoenix, Arizona, in the United States. He was an American citizen who had traces of English, Welsh, Scottish, and, to a lesser extent, German ancestry.
Chester was also a distant descendant of the Dutch. He was conceived by Susan Elaine Johnson and Lee Russell Bennington, two police officers who specialize in cases of child abuse. (Nurse).
His other siblings include two elder half-sisters and an older half-brother who works as a police officer named Brian Bennington. He was sexually abused by an older male friend when he was seven years old. His parents split up when he was eleven.
Following the divorce, Bennington was placed in the custody of his father. He started abusing drugs like LSD, alcohol, marijuana, opium, cocaine, and methamphetamine. His religion is unknown, although he had the Pisces zodiac sign.
Chester enrolled in Centennial High School to fulfill his academic obligations. He eventually changed schools to Greenway High School. His first band, Grey Daze, was founded at Greenway. He decided to transfer to Washington High School to graduate from high school there in 1994.
Chester Bennington was physically bullied in high school. He claimed in an interview that because he was “thin and unusual,” he was “knocked around like a rag doll at school.”
Early musical influences for him included Stone Temple Pilots and Depeche Mode, and he had aspirations of joining the band when he was younger. He worked at Burger King before starting a career as a professional musician.
