The drama relating to Valkyrae and RFLCT started after she launched a new skincare line — RFLCT — on October 19, 2021, with herself securing the position of a co-founder.
While many appreciated and congratulated her for the project, some spread negative comments, saying she created a solution to a problem that never existed.
The hate comment swirled around the internet because the brand claimed it protects against "blue light pollution" emitted from screens without sharing the research or conclusive evidence to back it up.
"There is absolutely no need to protect your skin from blue light coming from screens," one netizen wrote on social media.
Similar backlash and scam accusations continued to come in the YouTuber's way, who eventually responded to the matter, saying, "I'm also very confused," and asked people to wait until the next day for further clarification.
In her previous YouTube stream, she stated that it was "crazy" to blame her and put her in the middle of the drama because she was the face of the products.
Valkyrae also added that if she had the power to go back, she would have been more aware of what would be shown.
