Tonya began her career at Nickelodeon as an interstitial producer.
She later produced the miniseries Miracle’s Boys for the network as well as the documentary I Sit Where I Want to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education ruling. After that, she moved on to bigger projects for them. Together with Nikki Silver, she co-founded ToniK Productions in 2014.
The talk-show documentary series “That’s What I’m Talking About” was introduced in 2006 by Lee Lewis and Emmy-winning television producer Nikki Silver.
Since then, they have created the Lewis Lee-penned telefilm “The Watsons Go to Birmingham,” the 2014 social science fiction dystopian movie “The Giver,” and several episodes of the comedy-drama series “She’s Gotta Have It.”
Two upcoming drama movies, “Gallagher Girls” and “Amphibia,” have been made public by Toni Productions.
In 2014, she also hosted TeenNick’s reality program “Queen Bee.”
