This incident led him into a three-day coma, with his body temperature reaching a dangerous level of 107 °F (42 °C).
Lawrence was hospitalized and needed assistance from a ventilator to recover.
Before this incident, Lawrence experienced a highly publicized mental breakdown in 1996.
While filming the final season of his TV show “Martin,” he began exhibiting erratic behavior, such as being late or not showing up.
This led to production being suspended, and Martin was hospitalized for exhaustion. However, it was later revealed that his issues extended beyond exhaustion.
He was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, which required treatment.
Lawrence had been silently battling these mental health issues for years, hidden from his friends and colleagues.
Following this incident, Lawrence has been transparent about his struggles with mental illness.
