Josh Sills was born Joshua Matthew Sills on January 26, 1998. The 25-year-old started for Meadowbrook High School in Byesville for two years while playing in Sarahsville, Ohio.

The Ohio native redshirted his first year after committing to West Virginia University. In his first season, he played in 13 games and started 10, starting five at left guard and the other ten at right guard.
