There have been a few hoaxes concerning actor deaths that have occasionally been spread but proven out to be untrue.
Actors like Matt Damon, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Gene Hackman, Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, and many others have fallen victim to such death hoaxes.
Sometimes the hoaxes received so much media coverage that the performers themselves had to confirm their authenticity.
