Steve Sarkisian is a well-known American football instructor and former player. His coaching career started in 2000 when he was hired as the quarterback’s coach at El Camino College. Similarly, he rejoined his old coach, Norm Chow, at USC the following season. New USC head coach Pete Carroll appointed Chow as offensive coordinator. In 2001, he was an offensive assistant, and in 2002 and 2003, he was the quarterback’s instructor.
In 2004, he was hired as a quarterbacks coach for the National Football League’s Oakland Raiders. He returned to USC in 2005 as an associate head coach in addition to his role as a quarterbacks coach. In addition, he interviewed with the Raiders for their vacant head coaching position in January 2007 but decided to stay at USC.
In his first year as head coach, Washington upset Sarkisian’s former squad. Washington finished the season with a 5-7 record, a major improvement from the previous season’s winless 0-12 record. However, he expressed reservations about leaving Washington after a year and declined to take the position.
After losing 28-26 to Boise State in the Maaco Bowl in Las Vegas, the Washington Huskies ended 7-6 in 2012. Like his previous campaigns, Sarkisian’s 2012 Washington squad beat the majority of the Pac-12’s lower-level opponents but was dominated by the conference’s higher-level opponents. Sarkisian was mocked for his seven straight winning seasons, earning him the moniker “Seven Win Steve.”
In addition, on December 2, 2013, he returned to USC and was named head coach. [20] Sarkisian’s aim after the NCAA sanctions were lifted was to get USC back on track. In September 2016, he was also appointed an analyst for the University of Alabama football team.
