In Cheshire, England, Ruth Porat was born on April 22, 1957. She is the child of Frieda and Dr. Dan Borat. At Harvard University’s Department of Physics, her father was a research fellow. Her siblings are Naomi Porat and Marc Porat. When she was a child, her family moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts. Later, the family relocated to Palo Alto.
After completing high school, Porat enrolled at Stanford University, where she obtained a bachelor of arts in economics and international relations. She also went to the London School of Economics to finish her industrial relations master’s degree. The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania is where she also obtained her MBA.
