Dre is now a respectable man, but he regrets his history of aggression against women. Dre was charged with women’s violence for the first time in 1991 after attacking Fox television show Pump It Up host Dee Barnes at a party.
Against him, she filed a $22.7 million lawsuit. In her 2015 memoir, Michel’le speaks up about her violent relationship with Dre. Lisa Johnson later disclosed that Dre abused her when she was pregnant despite having a restraining order against him.
A former labelmate, Tairrie B, has also come forward to allege that Dre mistreated her during the post-Grammys event.
Dre has discussed all of this in interviews with Rolling Stones and The New York Times, noting that when he was young he drank excessively and that he really regrets all of his actions and wishes he could undo them. In addition, he informed the public that he has changed.
