In terms of his professional career, Robert Smigel was a member of the Chicago comedy troupe All You Can Eat in the early 1980s. Smigel started his career as a writer for Saturday Night Live. He also has a lot of difficulties in his path. The Ambiguously Gay Duo, his first cartoon, aired on the ABC series The Dana Carvey Show, for which he acted and scripted in 1996.
Smigel brought his cartoon segment from The Dana Carvey Show to SNL in 1996 because it was so popular. The distinctive animation area, dubbed ‘TV Funhouse,’ produced some of the most successful comic routines. The sketch mocked popular culture and prominent figures.
Smigel co-wrote the 2008 picture You Don’t Mess with the Zohan with Judd Apatow and Adam Sandler. He also worked as the film’s executive producer and played Yosi, an Israeli salesman, in the film. He wrote the scripts for Hotel Transylvania and Hotel Transylvania 2, which were both enormous box office hits in 2015. Not only that, but he also provided the voices for a few characters in the films. He was most recently seen in the 2020 film The King of Staten Island, playing Male Pharmacist.
