The well-known professional boxer Regis was conceived by Shelita Martinez Prograis and Vidal Prograis. Shelita, his mother, suffered a terrible loss as a result of the disastrous Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Her New Orleans house was completely devastated by the destructive storm’s eight-foot-high floods. Shelita and her family managed to go through the tragedy despite the tremendous obstacles.
The Prograis family migrated to Houston in search of a new beginning. Sadly, their problems persisted when, twelve years later, Hurricane Harvey wreaked havoc on their community. Shelita and her husband were thus made homeless once again.
Regis, who has always valued his mother’s strength and affection, nevertheless, made her a wonderful Christmas present in 2019. He arranged boxes within boxes, the last one carrying what seemed to be a brand-new iPhone, as he prepared his Christmas presents.
Shelita was surprised to see that the package had a key in it, signifying the key to their new house. As a kind Christmas present for his mother, Regis had bought her home, giving her a place to call her own after years of being dispersed and insecure.
