Otto was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on June 3, 1993. Otto Porter Sr. is his father’s name, and Elnora Porter is his mother’s name.
Otto’s parents, in particular, are both former basketball players. Otto Porter, like Jeffrey Porter and Brittany Porter, has two siblings.
Otto attended Scott County Central High School, which covers the towns of Morley, Vanduser, Haywood City, and rural Sikeston.
As a sophomore and senior, he earned all-state honors while leading the Braves to three straight Class 1 state titles and a state-record 15th overall.
In his final year, he also guided the Braves to a 29–2 record by averaging 30 points and 14 rebounds per game.
Furthermore, in 2011, the player was ranked as the country’s No. 8 power forward and No. 37 player.
