People are interested in finding out what newly elected state representative Danny Rampey did, therefore his arrest and charge are now a hot issue.
In November, Darren Rampey, a well-known businessman from Barrow County, was elected unopposed to the Ohio House of Representatives for District 116.
Police reported that Danny Rampey broke into a residence at the Winder retirement community where he works, and the community arrested him on Thursday.
Daniel E. Rampey, 67, of Statham, claims to have been in charge of Magnolia Estates of Winder Assisted Living Center for the last 38 years on his campaign website. There, he was held captive.
The criminal investigation began when the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office learned of “suspicious conduct concerning missing pharmaceuticals” around two weeks ago, according to the sheriff’s office.
“This was one of the occasions he stole stuff, as shown on video in the past. Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said, “We caught him coming into the House and taking the goods.
Prescription painkillers were among the medications stolen, according to Smith.
The house that was broken into, according to the sheriff, was a villa separate from the main Magnolia Estates complex.
Sheriff’s detectives carried out search warrants at the Company and Rampey’s home on Thursday afternoon as they searched for new evidence, according to Smith.
Depending on what is discovered, the sheriff indicated that further charges may be filed.
