2012 reports claimed that Boniadi was chosen by the Church of Scientology to be Tom Cruise’s girlfriend as part of a search for a compatible partner for the star. Before meeting Cruise, Boniadi reportedly through a lengthy screening process and was required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
But the relationship ended, and Boniadi is said to have received criticism from the Church for her behaviour throughout it. Boniadi left Scientology after that and has since spoken out against the organisation. She has advocated for human rights and spoken out about her interactions with the Church.
