Landry Shamet, the passionate basketball player and goal-oriented athlete, was welcomed into this world on March 13, 1997, in Kansas City, Missouri, United States, by extremely loving and supportive parents.

His mother, Melanie Shamet, and his father, Ron Davis, have supported him throughout his playing career and pushed him to pursue his big dreams.

Furthermore, Shamet was raised by a single mother. His mom, Melanie, went to Boise State University on a scholarship of volleyball.

The athlete is extremely close to his mother, and he never leaves any stone unturned to make his mom feel proud of his achievements. Additionally, the mother-son duo is often seen together in his games and events.

Besides, Shamet started playing basketball when he was just two years old. His family lost their residence and went bankrupt when he was in middle school as a result of an increased mortgage.

Moreover, Landry’s parents separated when he was very young. Speaking in an interview, the athlete shared that he met with his father for the first time in 2021.

He got in touch with his dad, Ron Davis, who had played abroad for 15 years, almost ten years later.

Shamet continued, “Being the sole kid of a single mother my entire life, it’s a life changer. “I think I misjudged all that would come with that, stepping into that and putting myself in that position.”

Nonetheless, now the athlete is finally close to both his parents, and he is a family man who takes care of his entire family members.
