Donna Sommer, Mimi Sommer’s mother, died on May 17, 2012, in her Naples, Florida, home. She passed away at the age of 63. Lung cancer was her primary cause of death. Donna has lung cancer as a result of inhaling poisonous gases and dust.
Donna’s funeral service was held on the afternoon of May 23, 2012, at Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee. According to CNN, many hundred of Summer’s friends and family members attended her funeral. There were no cameras allowed inside the church because it was a private ceremony.
