Morgan Hellquist had been under the care of Dr. Morris Wortman, a physician in upstate New York, for nine years.
During this time, she received breast and pelvis examinations from him without realizing that he was her biological father.
In January 1985, Morgan’s mother, Jo Ann Levy, sought Dr. Wortman’s assistance in conceiving a child.
At that same time, she was informed by Dr. Wortman that she would be inseminated with the sperm of an unidentified medical student, who was meant to remain anonymous.
According to Morgan Hellquist, the distressing revelation is that Dr. Morris Wortman was fully aware of their biological relationship while acting as her gynecologist.
Hellquist expressed her anguish, stating that he withheld this crucial information from her, depriving her of the ability to make an informed choice.
Fighting back tears, Hellquist shared her perspective on Good Morning America and announced her intention to file a lawsuit against Wortman.
