Matty was born and raised in Liverpool, but little is known about his family history. However, his commitment to public service was evident at a young age.
In addition to his career as a vacuum cleaner repairman and as a self-employed technician, he demonstrated a strong commitment to his community.
Matty’s interest in vacuum cleaners extended beyond his day employment; it was a significant part of his existence.
He was a tester for “What Vacuum?” and operated his own business, “Matts Vacuum Repairs.” Notably, he was the former president of the organization he established.
Matty had established a promising political career in addition to his mechanical interests. He made significant contributions to the Sefton and Merseyside Labour Party, of which he was a native.
Recently, he was elected as a town councillor in Maghull and served as a parish councillor in Lydiate, demonstrating an acute sense of civic duty.
Matty’s charisma and zeal extended beyond the realm of politics. On the popular ITV program This Morning, where he demonstrated his expertise by evaluating vacuum cleaners, he became a household name.
According to Liverpoolecho, Sefton Central Labour MP Bill Esterson, a close friend and colleague of Matty, conveyed his profound sorrow, recognizing the young man’s achievements and unrealized potential.
Angela Rayner, the deputy leader of Labor, also praised Matty for his contributions to the community.
His legacy will endure, inspiring others to follow in his footsteps and continue his dedication to advocacy and service.
