Mark was all set to try his luck in Hollywood after graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1984.
He made his television debut in a variety of BBC shows such as The Ritz, Heartbeat, Band of Gold, and others.
But it wasn’t until 1997 that he landed the lead role as an exotic dancer in the hit film The Full Monty.
His career took off after he appeared in a number of British series such as The Thin Blue Line, Bonkers, and the 2000 film The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas.
Later in his career, he appeared in A-list films such as A Knight’s Tale, co-starring Heath Ledger, and Around the World in 80 Days, co-starring Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan.
In the 2011 premiere of the hit series Game of Thrones, Mark played King Baratheon, one of his most prominent and well-liked roles.
He was most recently seen as Derek Sands in the popular British TV drama series New Blood, which he starred in last year.
To summarize, Mark is having the time of his life with his lovely wife Kelly, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness.
