After years of coming up short, Stafford attributed his new focus on fitness and commitment to weight reduction as one of the key factors in his ultimate Super Bowl victory.
“There are probably some old images floating around of him, at 235 lbs and enjoying life back in the day, playing ball at a more significant weight,” Stafford told Insider during a Super Bowl news conference.
But as he grows older, he realizes how important fitness is. He has always made an effort to be in excellent physical shape and be ready to play.
In an interview with A Healthier Michigan.org, Stafford, who is now listed at 220 pounds, said that regular swimming and yoga, along with dog walks to improve his flexibility and cardio, are two of the healthiest habits he has developed over the last several years.
