Lorrie and Marty Walsh grew up in Dorchester together in many ways. They’d even cross paths now and then.
Lorrie and Marty would eventually rekindle their friendship while working at the State House. After repeatedly rejecting his advances, she finally agreed to go on a date with him. Lorrie was entirely focused on raising her daughter, Lauren Campbell, at the time.
Marty and Lorrie, for their part, did not live together until Lauren was an adult and moved away. Marty and Lorrie first met in 2005. They hadn’t even gotten engaged, let alone married, after 15 years. Lorrie blamed their hectic schedules for their failure to take the big step.
