Born on 31 October 1993 in Georgetown, Guyana, Letitia Michelle Wright is a British-Guyanan actress. At the age of eight, she migrated to London, England, where she attended Northumberland Park Community School.
Seeing Keke Palmer in the film “Akeelah and the Bee” sparked her interest in acting. To pursue her ambition, she enrolled in the Identity School of Acting at age 16.
Michelle’s career was launched by recurring roles in television series such as “Top Boy” and “Holby City.” In 2012, she received acclaim for her performance in “My Brother the Devil.”
She also appeared on renowned television programs like “Doctor Who” and “Humans.” In 2018, however, her role as Shuri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film “Black Panther” propelled her to global prominence. She reprised the character in films such as “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.”
Wright has demonstrated her acting abilities in stage productions such as “Eclipsed” and “The Convert.” Her performance in the “Black Mirror” episode “Black Museum” garnered her a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award.
