Nepalese-born Robin Tamang was the frontman for the rock band Robin and The New Revolution and was also a singer, guitarist, and actor. He was also an actor who took part in a number of Nepalese motion pictures. He was well-known for playing Yama Nadu in the Amazon Prime series “The Last Hour.”
Tamang was the youngest of five children born to a British Army-affiliated family who resided in Singapore. Due to his father’s frequent postings, Tamang spent a portion of his youth living in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Brunei.
He was inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Deep Purple while he was a student in Singapore. While attending Humber College in Toronto in the middle of the 1980s, he formed his second band, Tamang, and played gigs all over the city.
In 1996, he returned to Nepal to live with his father in Pokhara, where he also became a member of the rock band Looza. Before disbanding in 2005, Looza shared the stage with them for a period.
Along with Rajesh on drums, Dipesh on guitar, Prabin on bass, and Tamang on vocals, he continued and eventually formed Robin and the New Revolution. They co-released the wildly popular “Keta Keti” album, which helped him develop a big fan following.
He has acted in the Nepali gangster movie “Chadke” despite being well-known and popular as a musician. Robin asserts that the way people naturally express their emotions is tied to acting and music. He has no intentions of leaving his position as a musician despite appearing in a movie.
The renowned Robin Tamang has devoted his life to music. He has been doing theatrical performances in Nepal for more than 20 years and has developed a sizable fan base there. It’s said that once he performs, the entire stage comes to life, captivating the audience.
He began his music career in his home country even though he was born overseas, displaying his love and loyalty for it and setting an example for the future generation.
