We lament the abrupt and untimely passing of Lands Banks, the American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA) Manager of Administrative and Facilities. Lands was a valued member of the AOTA and a well-respected individual in the area of occupational therapy (OT), having served for an astounding 25 years.
His deep influence went well beyond his career accomplishments. Lands Banks was more than just a coworker; to everyone he encountered, he was a source of inspiration and courage. He left a lasting impression on everyone around him with his tranquil and calm manner, approaching every encounter and task with unshakable kindness. Lands was a very outstanding person because of his unwavering desire to better others’ lives and his dedication to his vocation.
On Sunday, July 9, 2023, the news of Lands’s passing was made public. It shocked the AOTA community and others. Nobody can ever fill the emptiness left by his absence. As a wonderful man, a devoted friend, and a cherished coworker, Lands Banks will always be in our hearts. We will always hold a special place in our hearts for the influence he had and the lives he impacted.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Lands’s family during this difficult time as they grieve the loss of a loved one. Let’s continue Lands Banks’s legacy of kindness and commitment to improving occupational therapy to pay tribute to his memory. May he rest in peace for all eternity.
