Kellen began his professional football career during his senior year of high school. In his later years, he participated in football at the state level.
He subsequently topped the annual Sporting News list of the nation’s top 25 players. Kellen Moore debuted professionally in football in 2012 with the Detroit Lions.
He and the club also reached an agreement regarding a contract extension of two years. On September 6, 2015, following his failure in an initial 53-player roaster, he was traded to the Dallas Cowboys.
On December 19, he subsequently made his NFL debut against the New York Jets. During his debut at home and a 34–23 loss to the Washington Redskins, he completed 430 yards passing for 435 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.
He was also placed on injured reserve at the time due to a fractured fibula in his right leg. He resigned even though he was discharged from the club on October 26, 2017.
Furthermore, following his departure in 2018, longtime coach Wade Wilson retired from the NFL and assumed the role of quarterbacks coach for the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys officially ratified his promotion to offensive coordinator on January 31, 2019. Former NFL quarterback Kellen was a member of the staff of the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions.
Presently, he holds the position of quarterback coach with the Dallas Cowboys. In 2012, he also joined as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions.
