Torrens started his career in television in 1989 as a co-host of the CBC Television show Street Cents, where he remained a host until 1996.
The next year, he premiered his talk show, Jonovision, which he co-hosted, produced, and authored. When Torrens was chosen to appear in the well-known television series Trailer Park Boys, it was his biggest break.
The actor starred in the TV show Call Me Fitz from 2010 to 2013.
