He came to CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – 19 News working as the weekend meteorologist in August 2002. He isn’t a stranger to Cleveland weather or to forecasting it. Jon has been anchoring the weather here in his hometown for over 15 years. He was a former president of the Northeast Ohio chapter of the American Meteorological Society. He also shares his weather knowledge with local teachers and learners. Jon has taught meteorology at Case Western Reserve Campus and Lakeland Community College.
He now travels to hundreds of schools over Northeast Ohio presenting his “Atmosphere Adventures” program, which has a proven record of importantly raising scores on Ohio’s standardized tests. Additionally, Jon works on the Advisory Committee for Community Continuing Education at Cuyahoga Community College.
