John Vincent Calipari was born on February 10, 1959, in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, to John Vincent Calipari’s parents. Calipari was raised in the Pittsburgh suburbs by an Italian family and graduated from high school in 1978. He went on to play basketball for the University of Pittsburgh. John also holds dual citizenship in both Italy and the United States of America.
During his high school years, the 62-year-old was a point player for his high school basketball team. After that, he played for two years at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington before returning to Pennsylvania to play point guard. During this time period, he was the team’s leading assist provider and free-throw percentage shooter. John went on to acquire a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Phoenix.
Ellen Calipari, John’s wife, and he were married in 1986. Megan Calipari, Erin Calipari, and Brad Calipari are the names of their three children, who are Megan, Erin, and Brad Calipari, respectively.
