In a private ceremony attended by close friends and family, Joan Kenlay wed Robert Conrad in the year 1952. They welcomed four children together: Christian, Joan, Shane, and Nancy.
They were happily married for more than 25 years until divorcing peacefully in 1977. Following her divorce from Robert, Joan never remarried.

Robert wed her in 1983 after their divorce from LaVelda Ione Fann. His younger wife LaVelda is a pageant champion.
At the National Teenager Pageant, they initially connected. Their three children Chelsea, Camille, and Kaja were born to them as a couple.
